Digital download of your favorite weird folk punk record from the Appalachian foothills.
Music From The Rainbow Sparkle Palace: Volume I is the book of weird poems you'd never show your parents. Grown from mycelium in the Appalachian foothills, it resonates birdsong and feminism with each carefully crafted note.
Many of these songs arrived in their entirety, as Rainbow's muses demanded to be heard after a decade-long songwriting hiatus. The album was recorded in a geodesic dome on Pine Valley Drive, named by Rainbow's father, and where her childhood home still stands. "Berea" tells this tale, and was recorded with dear friends and even a childhood neighbor still residing on the winding woodland road.
Rainbow's approach to Appalachian mountain dulcimer is unusual for certain, and reveals her wildly creative spirit; having never been exposed to traditional dulcimer music, she taught herself to play, and is one of a very rare few writing songs on the instrument today.
